The 897 project intends to itinerate Sons do Douro’s journey along the 897 km of the Douro River. We believe that music is a means of communication and interaction of excellence and, conveniently, we will use it to fulfill the objective. It is with and through her that we will bring places and people together along 897 km of river. Making the journey from the mouth to the source, bringing the barrels with us, we underline the thesis of rebirthing the image and imagination of the Douro. With the main objective of mixing people, identities, flavors, tales, songs, colors, luggage and sounds where we go along the journey, we create new paths and social, musical and affective approaches. We want to try new places and ways of communicating, new foods, drinks and beats but, above all, on our way back, after singing the Genesis at the peak of Urbión and turning our legs into bridges and our torsos into dams, we want to seek inspiration for new repertoires and songs and realize that borders are not even air lines.
